I got this package of assorted American candy and chocolate bars in the mail today! I guess it's because we have so much American TV and movies here that I recognize a lot of them, like the Oh Henry bar! I remember that from Seinfeld when Kramer tried to sue the heiress to the candy bar fortune for walking around in a bra and Hershey from when Project Runway made outfits out of candy wrapper. If feels iconic somehow so I'm exited to try them out for the first time. There are a lot of them so maybe I wont do a post for each and every bar, a best and worst of might be a little bit more interesting.There is a LOT of peanut and peanutbutter in theese! Is peanut the Sakura of America? Must suck to have a nut allergy...

No surprise the chocolate x chocolate pocky are my favourite, more chocolate is always better!Praline is a little bit bitter, I guess to emulate more expensive chocolate with a high cocoa percentage, but really yummy!

Let's try it: Pocky ~ Salty cookie crunch

I thought theese would be a lot more interesting in flavour, I think I got stuck on the salty part of the name and kind of expected a crushed saltine. They are actually not really salty at all, it's like regular cookie crunch. They remind me of something we used to do when we where kids, mixing cocoa, suger and butter together with corn flakes.

Let's try it: Pocky ~ Sweet pumpkin

My latest package not only contained a bunch of false lashes and the like, it was also stuffed to the brim with a bunch of new Pocky flavours. I'm not a huge fan of pocky but I miss my snack posts and since I don't have access to all the whacky KitKat flavours anymore I figured this will do.

First up is the Sweet pumpkin pocky, the smell is nice but the taste isn't unmistakably pumpkin, it's just a hint. It's less sweet then the regular pocky and a little buttery in flavour, overall I really like it.

I've been waiting for my latest haul from my shopping service since forever, I'm getting starved for packages so thank god that this load showed up today! My kitchen table looks like an department store. I'll post some reviews later!

The neglected Christmas spirit

I'm usualy a big fan of christmas, like with every holiday, but this year it seems like it just snook up on me! I haven't had time to do any decoration or baking, the christmas market in my new town didn't have any candy apples and untill yesterday I even forgot the beautiful Advent calendar I got! I'll try to change it now that I'm aware of it, I think I might go buy the ingrediens for a gingerbread house today, I would love to make a castle shaped one but since I'm sort of a novis I think I'll do best to start with the basics. I would like to have that in my kitchen but I still have a ways to go, don't you think?

Japanese food items I didn't expect to miss

Curry Pan

Sort of a non sweet fried doughnut kind of dough filled with vegetable Curry, can be eaten hot and cold and sold at the konbinis and curry resturants. I think I was the only one out of everyone I knew who ate this more then once, I belive a lot of them got an upset stomach from eating it. Even though I was fine after eating them several times I had no clue what kind of cravings I would later develop for theese buns. I have not tried to make this at home yet but I did find alot of recepies when I was browsing for pictures so maybe it's about time. Sugar & butter fried toast

The name pretty much says everything, toast panfried in sugar and butter. I'm pretty sure no one else in my class tried this one, everyone though it sounded pretty nasty and at first I could agree, but after eating it it's quite good! It tasted alot like a sweet pancake! I only ate this once and never saw it at the konbini next to my school again. Meiji chocolate

Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing really weird about meiji, it's a great chocolate! The thing is, if you don't alredy know it, Swedish chocolate is ridicilously delicious and before I went to Japan I thought I would go insane without it, so all the time I though Meiji was just a substitute for Marabou. Since I got home I really miss it though. I didn't think about it at the time but how thin the chocolate bar is makes it so good, it feels light and melts in your mouth. My favourite's Hi-milk and extra milk.

Apple cake and tea, in anticipation of the three day weekend. I'm kind of bored with work so it will be nice with an extra day off, this weekend is the antique and collectors fair where I live. I'm hoping to find a table clock and maybe a nice box for potpurri.

I went to one of my favourie cafés with my parents today. It's run by a girl and her family on their freetime so it's hardly ever open but it's located in this beautiful, old school building and they have some of the best cakes ever. I ruined the visual by accidentaly pouring cream instead of milk in my tea, making it look sort of lumpy, but the taste was still just as good.

Happy Valentines lovleys!

As you might know, it's my favourite holiday of the year, it's a shame that it always goes by so fast! This year was once again lovley, it was sunny here in Tokyo again after days of rain and unbeareble chill.
We had pasteries from my favourite hideout, Patisserie Swallowtail White Rose, and later I finaly got to see Tokyo tower up close, about time right?
Roppongi by night is truly beautiful with all it's sparkeling lights, I wish you could all see it as my gift to you this year.

Där hemma närmar sig det Semmeldags. Semlor är bland det bästa jag vet, varje år avger jag ett löfte till migsjälv att åtminstonde försöka äta minst fem stycken innan de slutar sälja dem i affär. Min pappa gör alltid hemmagjorda också, men de köpta är alltid godast! Deras grädde är mycket sötare. Jag undrar, om jag inte äter en enda semla i år, betyder det att jag borde sattsa på att äta tio nästa? För jag tror att jag skulle kunna göra det.Translation:

At home the time for Semlor is approaching. Semlor is one of my favourite things in the world, every year I make a promise to myself to atleast try to eat five or more before they dissappear from the stores. My dad makes them homemade but the bought ones are always the best! Their cream is much sweeter. Im wondering, if I dont eat a single one this year, does that mean I should be aiming to eat like ten next year instead? Because I think I could do that.
